When I guided a Dutch lady on nature and birding tour in North Sulawesi province of Indonesia, I took a lot of pictures of birds in the forest, farmland, and mountains. One of them was Sulawesi Hanging Parrot (Loriculus stigmatus). We saw both male and female in a papaya tree. The birds were eating one of the riped fruits that was still hanging in the tree.

I slowly walked towards the tree with camera in my hand. I made several shots from a safe distance. I used Canon200D with Tamron 150-600mm G2 telephoto lens. The birds did not fly away when we were standing around twenty meters from them. The male one had red forehead as shown in the photograph below. We stood still for a while to watch the birds and then continued walking again.

We went to various birding sites including Doloduo village and Dumoga Bone National Park, Rainforest Areas around Sam Ratulangie Airport, Tomohon, Tangkoko Nature Reserve, and Pal Beach. It was a nice experience.
